Slither (2006) Horror/Comedy Movie Review

Being a Sci-fi, Horror and action nerd. I couldn't pass up an offer to watch this movie. From the guy who made Dawn of the Dead, comes this movie. It's about some alien life form that lands on earth and attempts to take over the earth by spreading with leech like organisms. This takes place in the south and has familiar actors such as "Pam" from "The Office".

The dumb neighbors and less-than-average smart people who run among this town make the movie funny a lot. You'll go from laughing your ass off, to being creeped out and a few "jumpy" moments that aren't abused. The story line is interesting but sadly predictable like most sci-fi horror movies these days. however a few changes that you wouldnt expect keep it interesting.

Pros:

Good mix of comedy and horror
Graphics are good, and used moderatively well.
Plot is interesting but a bit predictable
Stupidity of characters is fun
Characters are developed enough but not too much to bore you

Cons:

Some parts are just wayyyy too predictable
A few "Do not... do that, you dumbass" moments, but then again most of the town is not very bright.
Would have expected a more chaotic ending.
Lack of interaction from any outside authority, but then again the town's character's explain this, since they are dumb.

Score: 7/10

Worth watching, don't expect anything unique in the horror sense, but its a good mix of Comedy and Horror we rarely see these days. Here is the IMDB Page.
